*The Rat Piñata*
Rat Piñatas are lots of fun. Fun for them to play with and explore, and fun for you to watch.
Even if you're really busy, these take literally two or three minutes.
All you need is:
Some tissue/card/paper, or even a toilet roll inner.
Some tempting treats.
A way of hanging the piñata, either with string, or a metal hammock clip, or even a shoe-lace.
A couple of mischievous rats!
Step one
Take three or four sheets of tissue paper, and place some healthy treats in the centre.
Here I have used raisins, sunflower seed, bits of broken shreddie, some hazelnuts
and a couple of rat friendly chocolate drops.
Step two
Bundle the tissue up, and tie it at the top.
My rats aren't chewers, but if yours are, be careful what you use, as it may get eaten along with the treats!
Step three
Hang from the bars of the cage, and let the madness commence!
Hints:
If this is your rats first time playing with a piñata, go for the tissue until they get used to the idea of ripping something open to discover their 'prize' as the treats can be easily sniffed out, and it doesn't require too much effort. If they enjoy it, then move on to making them out of paper, or card, as this will require more effort and determination. Rats are nothing if not determined.. xx ;)
